The votes are in. We have our winners in our Flixel Contest.. The contest allowed creators to submit cinemagraphs of all kinds to be voted on by our community, as well as by 3 of our Flixel Wizards – Jason Teale, Lindsay Adler, and Virgo Haan. 

There were cinemagraphs of pets, landscapes, food, and loved ones. The creativity was outstanding, and the judges had a hard time choosing their favourites. As for the community, well, it came down to two.

Winner of Flixel Cloud Web+Apps, coming in at 293 votes, is a dizzying cinemagraph that you can’t take your eyes off of.

Voting technically ended on March 3, though, we had to keep the contest page open for our Judges to vote. In the time that we kept the page open, the final #2 voted cinemagraph slid into first place. Thus, we are giving an honourable mention to the talented Derek VanAlthuis! Coming in at 239 votes at the end of the voting period.

Judges Choice Award

Our judges each sat down and picked their top 3 favourite cinemagraphs. It was tough, but, after a lot of discussion, the votes came down to 1 cinemagraph.

The winner of our Judges Choice Award will receive a 32 GB 4th Generation Apple TV, a 1 year Flixel Cloud Web+Apps plan, a feature on our social media channels, and a blog feature on Flixel.com. Our winner is, once again, Rocky Montez-Car with this adventurous cinemagraph.

Flixel Team Choice Award

When the votes were all in and our judges decided on a winner, we hadn’t prepared for the same creator, Rocky Montez-Carr, to win in both categories! His cinemagraphs are stunning and it’s clear that people were drawn to his style of work. With that said, we felt there should be an additional winner…

Our team looked at all of the submissions and narrowed it down to one more cinemagraph that we feel deserves some love. Perfectly looped and a great composition, Valentin Kaden de Vaca’s cinemagraph is the winner of a 1 year subscription to Flixel Cloud Web+Apps, along with a feature on our social channels.
