Mercedes-Benz Speeds Ahead in Cinemagraph Ad Campaign on Instagram
Mercedes-Benz is one of the most recognized auto-brands in the world. Identifying the power of Instagram as a visual-driven platform, they decided to showcase a new series of automobiles and high-end driving features in a paid campaign. Flixel Studios worked with Mercedes-Benz Canada and created the first-ever cinemagraph used in a Instagram sponsored post in Canada to promote the new AMG GT coupe. It debuted on May 25th.
Cinemagraphs Share Brand Stories That Resonate
Imagine zooming fast but smoothly on the highway, the open road ahead of you, every comfort available in your vehicle while you listen to your favourite song. That’s what Mercedes-Benz wanted to evoke; the excitement associated with a high-tech dream car. The cinemagraph ad reflected those experiences. The skies rolling in the background demonstrate how a subtle hint of motion creates a story that not only hold the audiences’ attention, but creates a longer-term relationship between the brand and the user. As a result, Mercedes-Benz saw a 6pt lift in brand favourability, and a 34% increase in ad recall, demonstrating that cinemagraphs build a deep connection, and fast.
